W. Michelle Harris teaches in the Information Technology Department at RIT. Her focus is on creating interactive environments for live performance, often incorporating custom-built instruments and set pieces to control digital sound, video, and lighting. Before coming to New York, she worked as a software interaction designer and multimedia developer, moonlighting occasionally as a singer and dancer. Michelle holds a BS in Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and a MPS in Interactive Telecommunications from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
