MICHAELA EREMIASOVA

Michaela Eremiasova was born in Prague, the Czech Republic. She is currently pursuing a PhD. in Composition at the Eastman School of Music. She has studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston where she was awarded the Carla Bley Award in jazz composition. She co-orchestrated the opera, West-The Future of the American Musical Theater by Broadway composer Charles Strouse that was commissioned by the Hanson Institute for American Music at the Eastman School of Music. She has received other commissions as well, most notably for the Novus Trombone Quartet and the Russell Scarbrough’s big band. Michaela is currently creating a film score for Biological Clock, a documentary film by RIT faculty Cathleen Ashworth.
