JON TURNER

Dr. Jon Turner programmed computers at Yale University in the 1970s, where he played tenor saxophone in the Yale Jazz Ensemble.  For several years, he accompanied the dance classes of the New Haven Dance Alliance and collaborated on many dance projects. Dr. Turner also performed with the New Haven (CT) pop band Rhapsody.  In the mid-80s, he returned to computers, programming games and applications for early personal computers. In addition, he played flute with, and was a board member of, the Hartford Community Concert Band. He returned to graduate music studies, completing his PhD in 1996. A fluent instrumental jazz performer on flute, saxophone, guitar, and keyboard, Dr, Turner frequently appears as soloist with amplified electronics. His diverse repertoire includes pop, jazz, classics, and original works
