COLLABORATORS:
COMPOSER: Jon Turner (Nazareth College)
CHOREOGRAPHER & DANCER: Laura Smith (SUNY Geneseo)
ANIMATOR & GRAPHIC ARTIST: Paris Hall, Jr. (Nazareth College)

PERFORMERS:
DANCER: Laura Smith
MUSICIANS: Dr. Jon Turner and Paris Hall

DESCRIPTION:
Original choreography by SUNY Geneseo student Laura Smith uses music from two early contrasting works by Nazareth faculty Dr. Jon  Turner. An atmospheric slow movement for piano duo (1969) and a contrasting, lively improvisatory jazz ensemble (1974) are paired (timings are 1:55 and 7:37, respectively). With many internal surprises, contrasts, and connections, Ms. Smith's choreography, along with her costume design and staging, transform the musical score into a unique and expressive multimedia dance presentation. Live music for this dance number will be performed by Nazareth senior Paris Hall on the French horn and by the composer on synthesizer and electric guitar.
