SUSANNAH NEWMAN

Susannah Newman is a co-founder of the IMS Festivals and an emeritus professor of SUNY Brockport’s Department of Dance. As an independent artist, she is active in the creation of dance on camera, collaborating with composers, visual artists, poets and other choreographers and filmmakers. As a new resident of New Jersey, four of her recent screen dances have been presented in NJ State Film Festivals, where her editing and use of camera have been cited. She continues to present workshops on “The Camera As Dancer” and has formed a new not-for-profit company, The Media and Performance Collective.
