MANJUNAN GNANARATNAM
Composer Gnanaratnam began his career in New York with the Loose Marbles Dance Company. He has worked for more than twenty years with choreographers and dance companies both in the US and abroad. Manju’s current projects and research include recreating composer Karlheinz Stockhausen’s Ceylon; collaborations with dance companies in St. Petersburg, Russia; research in Physical Computing methodologies, and the implementation of physicist Stephen Wolfram’s Theory of Cellular Automata in music composition for dance. Manju is currently a Staff Musician at the Department of Theatre Arts and Dance at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
