HELANIUS WILKINS

Helanius J. Wilkins began his undergraduate education in film at RIT in 1991, fell in love with dance, and graduated with a degree in choreography and performance from SUNY Brockport in 1995. Since then, he has gone on to become a major voice in contemporary Dance in the Mid-Atlantic area, winning prestigious awards from the Kennedy Center and, most recently, the Washington, D.C. 2008 Pola Nirenska Award for artistic excellence and service in dance. His all-male company, EDGEWORKS Dance Theater, has performed throughout the U.S. and in Europe.
