Caesura, or Grand Pause n.1. indicates a brief, silent pause, during which time is not counted. In ensemble playing, time resumes when so indicated by the conductor or leader. Initially inspired by the landscape of a natural environment, this short dance film explores the physical form in and through moments of transition; the in-between places. The quality of these transitory moments is reflective, offering a place of pause for the viewer. The moments in between action and rest are fore-grounded to reveal an inner landscape that is silently present throughout the play of natural light, vibrant colors, and contrasting textures.
